Hypnosis Explained
-
You'll be conscious and alert the entire time and hear everything I say and remember everything I say. Not verbatim, but similarly to how well you recall your other conversations, and this is what we want so you can retain the insights gained.
-
Hypnosis works by de-potentiating the left hemisphere and bypassing the critical factor - the judge - to access the subconscious and unconscious minds where the truth, emotions, and habits reside.
- Once there, old habits, patterns, and emotions that aren't serving you can finally be can be understood and then released. You will retain the understanding, that's what makes the transformation permanent.
- New & updated understandings and patterns can be integrated, in a loving and effective way.
- We do this by using the powerful focusing and filtering capabilities of the conscious mind to filter out the external world and instead focus our attention internally.
-
We do that by focusing on relaxation and relaxing the body first. Then the body is used as a model to relax the mind.
-
Hypnosis is not a feeling - it's a state of mind. However, you may feel a sensation of lightness like floating, or stability like a tree - strongly rooted into the ground, or you may feel electricity moving throughout your body - or you may feel nothing at all.

Things to know...
Please note that if you are new to hypnosis, book a free Hypnosis Consultation with me prior to booking a full hypnosis session.
I am not licensed to practice medicine or psychotherapy. I am a registered hypnotherapist in Washington State.
To have the best hypnosis session, here are a few tips:
Don't have too much caffeine the morning of, as it is harder to get into a relaxed state when the brain is too stimulated.- Go to the bathroom before the session so you will be comfortable. Don't worry though, we can always take a break if needed.- Think of where you would like to be.
Most find it most comfortable to be on their bed or a couch leaning back on some pillows.
Don't lay down completely so you don't fall asleep.
Have a pillow or cushion to put your arms on.
Ideally, position your screen so I can see your upper half. I will only be looking at you while we talk, but once you close your eyes I won't be looking at you unless I don't get a response to a question.
We can work around background noises, but make sure you won't be interrupted too much by people or animals unless it is an emergency.
We will review the process and any questions you have at the start of the session, along with reviewing your intention(s).
